Ames Perry | Director & “Label Guru”

Ames is a food scientist with degrees in Experimental Foods (University of Maryland) and Masters of Arts and Teaching (Johns Hopkins University). She has a broad background in food processing, training and regulation. Her work as a food technologist began in Quality Assurance for a USDA plant owned by W.R. Grace which provided a diverse processing environment that encompassed meat/poultry, bakery, as well as salads and side dishes.

Part of her responsibilities were getting labels approved by USDA. Her next career move was to Little Caesars as International Food Technologist in Quality Assurance. There she traveled internationally, opening new markets, evaluating, approving and supporting suppliers in Egypt, Turkey, Korea, Canada, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Ames served as the Technical Services Manager at Holly Poultry, overseeing QA, R&D and HACCP. While at Prime Label she was the primary trainer for USDA Labeling and Nutrition Labeling – teaching the new nutrition regulations just five days after the final rule – and USDA Generic Labeling. Her experience, skills and familiarity with food plants and regulations allow her to solve some of your most difficult labeling challenges.
